Hail is big stuff. Freezing rain is smaller like pellets. But that's also sleet. Small hair can be sleet. But sleet can never be hail even though it can be freezing rain. Get it? Now I have to sit down, I'm dizzy. You guys are almost as good - submitted by Anonymous on 04/15/2007

Hail usually comes from thunderstorms in summer time. Freezing rain usually happens when rain reaches grounds that is below 32 degrees and freezes on contact. Sleet is snow that is melt but then frozen just before it reaches the ground ...most of the time it melts and don't stick to the ground hail - submitted by Anonymous on 09/16/2008
