I know this sounds funny, but I know 2 people on my street who are obsessed with their yards. They know it's crazy but they really can't stop themselves. One actually saw a shrink about it and still can't let go.

My brother in law had this problem. I laughed my head off until I learned he's really nuts. My sister is miserable, so are his kids. It's bizarre but it's like he's obsessed.

A neighbor of mine is an absolute lawn freak. He ought to be committed. It's all he talks about, all he does. I'm not kidding. He drives us all crazy just looking at him every day out there

I used to be lilke that. I got swept up in my block's neatness. So many people seemed to spend all this time on their lawns. And then we'd get together and everybody would talk about the latest this and that. You just did it. I did anyway. Now I don't so much and truthfully my neighbors don't socialize as much with me. I'm looked at as an outcast almost. Why just because I don't buy the latest hedge cutter? Crazy, I think

If I could get my husband to spend less time in the yard it would be a miracle. Our yard is small and nothing to it, there's nothing more to do with it. Yet he's always out there doing something. Had I known then what I know now..
