No more free passes for Fido barking outside all night. Neighbors have had it. And towns are passing laws making "you," you dog-loving-neighbor-insensitive dog owner, responsible. Leave your dog out barking, and you're fined (or possibly worse -- ever hear of doggie lock down?). New doggie noise regulations are cropping up in towns everywhere, according to The NY Times.

You may think your dog is "the cutest," but the people next door, trying to sleep through the 4:00 A.M.canine shriek and bark fests, absolutely don't. What they're thinking is, how can I muzzle that idiot mutt and, afterwards, do something to its owner that (1) causes a lot of pain and (2) won't land us a life-in-prison sentence.

So, do the right thing. Give your dog a sedative, keep him in the basement, put him in front of the TV with a bag of pop corn. But don't put him outside, alone, free to terrorize your sleep and peace-deprvied neighbors. Rarf!
