The dad in Little Children took care of the kids while his frozen wife, Jennifer connelly, worked in NYC. He was the hottie in the playground. I know a lot of guys who would love that and it doesn't make them losers. This isnt'[ the 1950s. Couples can make decisions that fit each ot them. Yadda yadda.

My husanbd got laid off 2 years ago and sits around all day watching Tv. He's a loser not because he's hom but because he's become lazy, depressed and a slug. If he did thing that stimulated him, got him out in the world, whatever, I'd have a different view. If he decided he wanted to take care of the kids and really meant it that would be fine. As is is he barely notices them. I'm sick of it and him and whatever you want to call it I'm soon moving on

It may be stereotyping but I want my husband to work at a job and help bring in money. I work and would rather wrok less, so why shouldn't he. We can get childcare at a lot less money than he or i make by working. I don't think it's just stereotying either. I want my partner to contribute. I( don't want him on the swings or in the front of the TV. If that's sexist too bad.

My dad is a loser that never provides for me or my siblings. Nobody would know what a loser dad is when all they've experienced is a hard working doctor that leaves at 6 in the morning and comes back at 7 to provide for his family.

he's a loser because he allowed the child to continue a conversation that should not have been commenced -- or at least carried past the "aunt Janey" part -- in the first place. A chance was lost to teach a valuable lesson.

I just re-read the story. I stick by my statement above except I'm taking back the "aunt Janey" part. The conversation should have been changed to another subject right from the first question.

Kids need to be taught self discipline and respect and that they aren't to blather out any little thing that comes into their heads. Efforts to manipulate their parents should be shot down and penalized -- the earlier the better -- so the kids don't end up spoiled and acting "entitled".
