Guy 1: 35 minutes, 40 tops.

Guy 2: To work?

Guy 1: It's no big deal, the commute.

Guy 2: The train ride itself is 40 minutes. I've been on it.

Guy 1: OK, so maybe it's 45.

Guy 2: Then you take a subway 5 stops, and have to walk 6 blocks. Plus you've got a 15 minute drive to the train station.

It is funny that this makes sense to me. I live about 30 minutes outside the city (without traffic), but if I was to take the train into the city and then take the subway to get to whatever my destination was it would take a hour or more.
