Why the Best: Street festival capital of the world.  This beautiful boardwalk beach town has more crazy, out there, fun festivals and fairs than all other towns combined. How about the Doodah Parade (featuring beach chair drill teams); Mollusk Day (honoring NJ's deserving shell fish); Miss Crustacean Hermit Crab Beauty Pageant (only attractive unmarried crabs eligible); and Weird Contest Week? And those are just a few.

Ocean City knows how to party and they do it almost all year round. And their focus is on family. Situated on an island surrounded by ocean and bay, the town has been named by travel mags as one of the best family vacation spots in America. It's loaded with boardwalk rides and arcades and shops. It's alcohol-free. (Something we at Burbia have issues with. But, hey, we're the minorities on that in our families.) The town is an easy drive to Atlantic City, if you want to drink and experience real decadence for a night. But it's far enough away that it's not affected by the AC skuzz factor.
