B-Rant- submitted by californiaobserver on 02/23/20079 Years Too Long For Downtown 'Beautification' Project!?I live outside SF. Beautiful town. 9 years ago our mayor started a project to spruce up the downtown. It already looked great. Add some flower boxes, some antique looking street lamps. Enlarge a few sidewalks, plant trees and -- presto -- we'll have a really attractive town. A place where people from all over will want to hang and shop. A win win for everyone, we were told. Nine years later, the downtown looks like it's been hit by a cyclone. Most trees still haven't been planted. Can't see any antique lamps, and the sidewalks and streets are loaded with piles of excavated dirt, bricks and pipes, and bulldozers and cranes. Enough!! God knows how much money this is costing us, how much waste, how much incompetence and mismanagement. But we, a lot of us, just want to go back being able to go downtown and not face a dust storm. Hearings are scheduled next month. If these idiots don't resolve this I'm pretty sure there's going to be a riot or coup. Local government. You barely pay attention to it. Then, when you do finally, you realize what a bunch of fools the people are who are running it....read more rants our town in nj has had the - submitted by irateinnj on 02/23/2007

we're still recovering from the electrician's last visit. he fixed our bad outlet and shorted out the upstairs power. he blamed it on bad copper wiring. our wiring wasn't copper. |
