Fix The Bathroom On Your Way Out, Honey

Woman 1: Ted told me he's leaving.

Woman 2: Are you serious?

Woman 1: He tells me that every week.

Woman 2: What do you tell him?

Woman 1: I tell him, leave, but not before you fix the boiler you've been promising to fix for 5 years, and the pipes and that f-ing door that jams every time we close it....overhear more

I go through this ritual

- submitted by Anonymous on 03/30/2007

I go through this ritual with my husband all the time. You know what, I wish he would leave. It's so boring.

Somebody who keeps

- submitted by thewesterner on 03/30/2007

Somebody who keeps threatenign to leave and doesn't has real problems. It's sad and weak. I don't know the woman accepts it the way it is. Why stay in a relationship where that's the dynamic, it's a waste.

If my guy agreed to fix the boiler and other things he's promised over the years, I'd trade that for his staying in a second. Go, go, go, as long as my heat and ac work.

i used to threaten leaving

- submitted by Anonymous on 03/30/2007

i used to threaten leaving all the time. my husband never believed it either. he was right. i was just trying to get some attention, i think.

once i stopped threatening, i felt better. pretty soon after that, i left. making the threats postponed my confronting the real hard things.

why do the guys have to fix

- submitted by guyview on 03/30/2007

why do the guys have to fix all the broken things in the house. we're not repairmen. i have zero interest in learning how to do that. if women or my wife want to, let them do it.

if guys don't fix things

- submitted by Anonymous on 03/30/2007

if guys don't fix things around the house, what's their purpose. tell us up front, then we won't let you in in the first place

now that's modern. i assume

- submitted by guyview on 03/30/2007

now that's modern. i assume that means the women will do all the house cleaning and cooking and child care? i thought we left that in the 70s.

Share my work but I won't share doing yours. That is a great strategy for a successful relationship. No wonder why he threatens to leave.

I agree with the above

- submitted by sharer on 03/31/2007

I agree with the above poster. Sharing is key to making a relationship worth. It's not always easy, but you've got to try. You've also got to talk. Otherwise, there's little chance really.

I also agree from hard

- submitted by Anonymous on 03/31/2007

I also agree from hard experience. My first marriage we fought all the time about who would do what, who wasn't doing their fare share. It got so that was the main basis of our relationship. We didn't last.

Now, fast forward a few years, I'm in a new relationship, and I get it. It's not about tallying up who does what, it's about communicating and trying to share in a fair way under all the circumstances.

Easier said than done, but by trying now, things are SO much easier and more fulfilling.

Bravo to the above!!!!

The guy may have problems and threatening to leave all the time stinks. But any good relationship needs cooperating, understanding, all the cliches.

I too am on a 2nd marriage and I'm like a different person now.

- submitted by getit on 03/31/2007

My friend and her guy play a game, threatening each other to leave all the time. I tell her she should stop and face whatever it is going on and stop pretending.

She says she just can't. She would rather be in this pathetic thing with her long time boyfriend than find or make seomething better. It's a shame. Also, it's hard to respect her when she stays in it -- they don't have kids or any significant ties that should prevent acting independently.

I don't think this is funny.

- submitted by wisewoman on 03/31/2007

I don't think this is funny. if the relationship is as distant and disfunctional as it seems, staying in it that was is bad news. It's pathetic.

You should have enough self respect to either make it work or, if not, get out. The rest is a shame.

It's not always easy to get

- submitted by Anonymous on 03/31/2007

It's not always easy to get out of something, even if you know it's wrong. You develep habits and fear big change.

Having said that, I agree it's not best to stay in this kind of dynamic. Everyone deserves something better.

- submitted by spicer on 04/01/2007

sometimes i like to tease my husband about leaving, and vice versa. we know we're not serious and it kind of becomes a game that keeps things spicy in bed. maybe it's silly or immature, but it works for us.

Haha, spicer, I do the same

- submitted by Anonymous on 05/11/2007

Haha, spicer, I do the same thing.

Just like, "Well maybe I'll go find someone who can pleeeease me"

It's just fun and games and I think it adds to the relationship.

We share our responsibilities equally and share all workloads. It's easy, there's no idiotic games, no fluff, just honesty and thoughtfulness, and I couldn't be any happier.

I just tell him he's gonna use one of these..

I just threaten him to rent one of these and things straighten out quick

whose house is it?

- submitted by Anonymous on 09/16/2008

Tell him you are calling someone to fix the boiler and do it. Get at least five quotes, have the contractors come over while he's there.

Free people search by address

Good afternoon. There is still a difference between something and nothing, but it is purely geometrical and there is nothing behind the geometry. I am from Liberia and learning to speak English, tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "People search engines limit the information they can collect, technology information."

Waiting for a reply 8-), Zarina.
